Arrest made in alleged murder of Cassville man
Bourbon man arrested in Illinois awaiting extradition
A Bourbon man has been arrested in Illinois and is charged in the alleged murder of a Cassville man found dead on Sept. 20.
Deacon Zelch, 40, of Bourbon, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Edward Hillhouse, 28, of Cassville.
Zelch was arrested at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday in Bloomington, Ill., on a warrant for the alleged murder, as he had been identified as a person ofd interest in Hillhouse's death.
Hillhouse went missing on April 26, 2016, after leaving his sister's home in Bourbon to meet with someone and never returning. His body was found on the property of a Bourbon residence.
Zelch is awaiting extradition to Crawford County, and his bond has been set at $1,145,000, cash only.
