Shakin’ in the Shell to return on Friday
Free concerts, children’s games, dog show coming to Chamber Park
For the 12th year in a row, Shakin’ in the Shell is returning to rock Chamber Park.
Now a staple in fall fun, Shakin’ in the Shell kicks off Friday from 6-10 p.m. with Funky Friday Night, featuring a show from 7-10 p.m. by Earl & Them, a blues rock band.
Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. is when most of the action takes place. The Classic and Custom Car Show will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A horseshoe throwing contest will go from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Also returning is Bark in the Park, the annual dog show. Registration is at 1:30 p.m. and the contest begins at 2 p.m.
Throughout the park will be vendors, a food fair, a beer garden for adults, children’s games and rides, and shows.
Children’s activities include the bungee trampoline, swings ride, gyroscope, tubs of fun, face painting, a sandpile search and a new offering, bubble ball soccer.
At 10:30 a.m., the Shell Knob Band plays, followed by the Blue Eye Band at 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., the Cassville Jazz Band takes the stage, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ronzo the Clown will be entertaining. Switch It Up Band, a country and rock group, will close out the night from 6-8 p.m.
People may bring their lawn chairs, but coolers are not allowed. Parking and admission are both free.
