Cassville High School seniors Colin Hang, Garrett Knight, Brian Oliphant and Coleman Hoppes, were selected to attend the American Legion Boys State of Missouri leadership experience that took place this summer at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. Boys State participants spend eight days studying the operation and fundamentals of the government by doing, not just learning. Using the democratic system as a basis, participants, or citizens, construct their own state, utilizing the core values that hold true in our everyday lives such as the need for competition, the value of public service, and the strength of the individual voice and vote. Citizens of the American Legion Boys State of Missouri are eligible to receive college credit and scholarships for participating and successfully completing Boys State.
