Community members turn out to support blood drive

Elwyn Holder, of Cassville, who works at Mercy Cassville, took time out of his day to donate blood on Aug. 16 at Mercy Hospital Cassville, during a community blood drive sponsored by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. Collections Supervisor Lachelle Hurst, who is assisting Holder in the photo, said the organization exceeded its goal of 14 donors before the event concluded, with 17 individuals showing up to give blood. Loye Rose, of Cassville, donated blood for the 57th time on Aug. 16 to help the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. The organization holds a community drive about every eight weeks to maintain their supply of blood banks. Rose is member of the organizationís Life Points program, which offers gift certificates to businesses like Starbucks, or Visa gift cards, after members accrue a certain number of points.
