2 charged in theft of bag at Stage Stop in Butterfield
Women allegedly steal pills, items from bag on vehicle
Two women are facing stealing charges after allegedly taking items from a bag on top of a vehicle parked at the Stage Stop in Butterfield.
Chris Reagan, 56, and Christina Fleetwood, 31, both of Cassville, are each charged with felony stealing of a controlled substance and misdemeanor stealing.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Stan White, deputy with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, Reagan was a passenger in Fleetwood’s vehicle, and she observed a black carry bag on top of the victim’s vehicle in the same area. While Fleetwood put fuel in her vehicle, Reagan was captured on surveillance video inside the store. When Fleetwood finished putting gas in her car, Reagan left the store and walked east in the parking lot, allegedly reaching up and grabbing the bag. Fleetwood then allegedly pulled around and picked Reagan up.
Inside the Brain Share 99 Novell bag, $8, was a RedFuel Battery and Quick Start, $25; a Samsung S4 Galaxy phone, $80; and an Otter Box phone case, $10.
When arrested, Reagan allegedly had possession of the bag and its contents, as well as an unknown number of prescription Xanax pills.
Reagan and Fleetwood are both being held in the Barry County jail, each on bonds of $4,500. Both have been arraigned, and both have disposition hearings set for Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
Fleetwood has a criminal history, with four stealing cases in Monett or Lawrence County from 2010-2014.
