Cassville man injured in big rig wreck
Tractor trailer fails to yield on Hwy. 37
A Cassville man was injured Friday in a wreck at 5:20 a.m. on Highway 37, three miles north of Purdy.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jonathan Rodgers, 61, of Frankfurt, Kent., was driving a 2016 International Prostar semi tractor trailer westbound and attempted to turn left onto Highway 37, failing to yield to a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by Andrew Adkins, 22, of Cassville. Adkins attempted to avoid an accident, but collided with the big rig's trailer.
Adkins suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. Rodgers was not injured.
Both men were wearing safety devices. The Malibu was totaled, and the big rig sustained minor damage.
