Farwell Reunion scheduled for Saturday

The Farwell Reunion will be held Saturday starting at noon in the Cassville High School commons area. The mean will be at noon, and pictures will be at 1 p.m. Local family and friends may bring a covered dish. Meat, plates and utensils will be supplied. Southwest schools 5th-6th grade Open House time changed

The fifth and sixth grade Open House at Southwest will be held Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. in the elementary/middle school cafeteria. All fifth and sixth grade students and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend this informational meeting planned specifically for those grade levels. Policies will be discussed and student schedules will be distributed.

Funds being collected for heart surgery

The Central Crossing Senior Center is holding a fundraising drive for Tracy Warner to receive heart surgery. People may donate to the “Get Well Tracy Warner” fund at the Arvest Bank in Shell Knob.

Central Crossing Senior Center to host fundraising breakfast

The Central Crossing Senior Center will host a fundraising breakfast on Aug. 19 from 7:30-10 a.m. On the menu is biscuits, eggs, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee. The meal is $6 for adults, and children under 6 eat free. For more information, people may call 417-858-6952. The center is located at 20801 Highway YY-15 in Shell Knob.

Community Foundation accepting grant applications

The Cassville Community Foundation is accepting grant applications through Sept. 1. Applications are also available at the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce office. Delinquent tax sale upcoming

The office of Barry County Collector Janice Varner is preparing for the annual Barry County real estate delinquent tax sale. Missouri law requires that land with three years of delinquent taxes sell on the fourth Monday of August each year. The first publication of this sale appeared in the Cassville Democrat the week of July 19, and copies are available in the collector’s office. The tax sale listing can be viewed at barrycountycollector.com, which will be updated as parcels are paid.

HiSET tests available at Crowder Cassville

Crowder College in Cassville will offer high school equivalency (HiSET) testing through August. The final test date for the year is Friday. For more information, people may call 417-847-1706.
