Absentee voting underway for Pierce City special election

Ballots may be submitted through Aug. 7

Absentee voting continues for the Aug. 8 Pierce City school district special election through Aug. 7 at the Barry County Clerk’s Office in Cassville, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If unable to vote absentee in person, a voter may request an absentee ballot to be mailed. Voters may pick up an absentee ballot request form at the Monett Chamber of Commerce or send a written request to the office of: Gary Youngblood, Barry County Clerk, 700 Main St. Suite 2, Cassville, MO 65625 or by fax at 417-847-5311. Those requesting an absentee ballot by mail must include: date of election, name of voter, physical address, mailing address, date of birth, last four digits of Social Security number, phone number, reason for voting absentee (absent from voting location on election day or physical disability) and signature.

The last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is Aug. 2.

Voters at the polls will need a government issued photo I.D. to vote. Voters in the Monett Rural and Capps Creek Precinct will be voting at the VFW Hall at 5400 Hwy. 60, in Monett.
