Central Crossing Senior Center to host chicken dinner

The Central Crossing Senior Center will host a chicken dinner fundraiser on July 29 from 5-7 p.m. The menu consists of oven-fried chicken, roasted potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, drinks and desserts. Good will donations will be accepted, and carry-outs are available. for more information, people may call 417-858-6952. The center is located at 20801 Highway YY-15 in Shell Knob.

Community Foundation accepting grant applications

The Cassville Community Foundation is accepting grant applications through Sept. 1. Applications are also available at the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce office. All applications must be returned to the Chamber office. People may contact Kati Rose at for additional information.

Delinquent tax sale upcoming

The office of Barry County Collector Janice Varner is preparing for the annual Barry County real estate delinquent tax sale. Missouri law requires that land with three years of delinquent taxes sell on the fourth Monday of August each year. The first publication of this sale is in today’s edition of the Cassville Democrat. Copies will also be available in the collector’s office. The tax sale listing can be viewed at, which will be updated as parcels are paid.

HiSET tests available at Crowder Cassville

Crowder College in Cassville will offer high school equivalency (HiSET) testing through August. Remaining test dates include: July 14 and Aug 4. For more information, people may call 417-847-1706.
