Cassville, for the fifth consecutive year, is seeking former alumni to be honored at the first home game of the season.

Lance Parnell, Cassville’s football coach, is a man who appreciates history, understanding the foundation of his program was laid by the hard work of generations who came before.

Parnell, in conjunction with Cassville High School, is inviting former Wildcat players to be a part of the Alumni Night at the Wildcats’ Aug. 1 game against Lamar.

“I had a great time last year meeting with the former players,” Parnell said. “I enjoy just hushing up and listening to them talk. I believe these players deserve recognition. They are as much a part of our football heritage as our current roster.”

The Cassville Wildcat Football program is inviting all football alumni who played the 1975-1979 football seasons (graduating classes 1976-1980).

“The community of Cassville has embraced football, and Wildcat Nation has become an amazing 12th man for us over the years.” Parnell said. “That support stems from the great alumni we have here in Cassville. We are very proud of our tradition and would like to honor you as our special guests.”

Check-in will begin in the north end zone at 5:45 p.m., with pregame refreshments provided.

Attendees will have access to the home sideline during the pregame warm-up, and they will be recognized before the game.

“The north end zone will be yours to watch the game and relive the old glory days,” Parnell said. “We will have food and drinks for you as well. During our pregame warm-up you are more than welcome to come down on our sideline and get an up close look at this year’s team.”

Attendees are asked to RSVP by Aug. 10 to with the following information: Name, graduation year, positions played and jersey number.
