G.E. (Bill) Leonard
G.E. (Bill) Leonard, 98, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Lacoba Homes in Monett.
He was born Nov. 29, 1918, at Purdy, the son of Erskin and Gertie (Smith) Leonard. On April 5, 1941, in Monett, he was united in marriage to June Bush.
Survivors include: his wife of 76 years; three sons, Stanley Leonard of Midwest City, Okla., Jerry Leonard and his wife Carolyn of Peculiar and Kent Leonard and his wife Stephanie of Sarcoxie; two half-brothers, J.H. Aldridge of Monett, and Lannie Aldridge, of Cassville; two half-sisters, Juanita Gold of Aurora, and Louella Calton of Aurora; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter-in-law, Frances Leonard; one brother, George Leonard and two sisters, Doris Trantham and Novita Atnip.
He was a life-long resident of southwest Missouri. He had been employed at Lake City Ordnance Plant, and for 43 years he was an employee of the Pet Milk Co. He farmed in Star City in addition to his employment until they moved to Cassville in 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Butterfield and a board member for Farm Bureau.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Dave Eaton and Brother Mike Renfrow will conduct the services. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Butterfield.
