Betty Arlene Copeland
Betty Arlene Copeland, 78, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017. She was born in Barry County on Feb. 19, 1939, to Walden William and Ruby Savage Buchanan. She graduated from Cassville High School with the class of 1957. She married her classmate, Ira Copeland, on July 19, 1958, at the Church of God Holiness in Cassville.
She worked as sales manager at Dillardís Department Store in Springfield for 30 years. She was an active member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield. Throughout her life, she actively volunteered in countless youth and adult activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ulias Buchanan.
Survivors include: her husband, Ira; her two daughters, Daphne Boyts and her husband Andy, of Nixa, and Stephne Neff, of Springfield; one brother, Carl Buchanan and his wife Patty, of Cassville; one sister Shirley Buchanan, of Overland Park, Kan.; and her sister-in-law, Anna May Buchanan, of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 6 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield, with Senior Pastor Chad Grayson officiating. Burial was at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
