Vehicle goes off roadway, strikes tree near Golden

A Shell Knob woman was injured Friday in a wreck at 12:45 p.m. on Farm Road 2260, four miles north of Golden.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Audrey Smith, 26, of Shell Knob, was driving a 2006 Toyota Avalon eastbound when her vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Smith suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

She was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.

At 1:37 p.m. Smith was arrested for no seat belt, no valid driver's license and careless and imprudent driving. She was released for medical care.
