Kansas man injured in Golden wreck

Vehicles collide at private drive on Hwy. 86

A Kansas man was injured in a wreck at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 86, three miles west of Golden.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, James Easley, 77, of Sealy, Texas, was driving a 1987 Suzuki Samurai eastbound and attempted to turn into a private drive, pulling into the path of a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina, being driven by Evan Sellegren, 31, of Waynesville.

A passenger in the Lumina, Dennis Sellegren, 63, of Girard, Kan., suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. Evan Sellegren and Easley wewre not injured.

Easley was wearing a safety device, and the Sellegrens were not. The Samurai sustained extensive damage, and the Lumina was totaled.
