Purdy man turns self in for sex crime
Man allegedly molests child less than 17 years old
A Purdy man is charged with a class B felony after allegedly turning himself in for having sexual contact with a victim less than 17 years of age.
Zachary Whiteley, 38, of Purdy, is charged with second-degree child molestation.
According to a probable cause report filed by Chief Deputy Leonard Collins, with the Barry County Sheriff's Office, Whiteley came into the sheriff's office on Saturday and stated he wanted to turn himself in for having sexual contact with the victim on June 1 at his home in rural Purdy.
Whiteley said the victim was cuddle up to him, and he pulled the victim on top of him, removed the victim's clothing and touched the victim.
Whiteley is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $50,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 5 at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
