Purdy City Council adopts job descriptions
City hall to remain open at noon, close at 4 p.m.
The Purdy City Council approved job descriptions introduced in May with modifications discussed at that monthly meeting.
Additions for the job descriptions included adding duties for police officers stemming from bailiff duties for municipal court. Transportation of prisoners back and forth from the county jail to face the municipal judge were added. Police also now officially have joint duties with staff in the public works department for animal control, a duty that had been assumed but not specified.
By choice of the city hall staff, the city clerk and her assistant will work from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., including open during the noon hour, closing at the earlier hour to waive a lunch break.
The job description for the building inspector was deemed to need a significant re-write and remains pending.
