Pastor Rocky Coy Mills
Pastor Rocky Coy Mills, 60, passed away on May 30, 2017. He was united in marriage to Donna K. Wierman on Feb. 14, 1976.
He had a knack for woodworking and developing custom heirloom pieces. He was best known for his musical talents. During high school, he received the John Phillip Sousa award for music. On many occasions he was called upon to play Taps for military honors for veterans. He was a yearly contributor to “The Show.” He had been a member of the Zioneers and member of the Cross Band music group.
After being called to share God’s Word as a pastor, he was received by the congregation at Ebenezer Southern Baptist Church in Monett, and was ordained at Ebenezer Church on April 22, 2012. He was currently on the Barry County Health Board.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna; two sons, Nathan Mills and Penny of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Jonathan Mills and Christina, of Washburn; two daughters, Elizabeth Robertson and Daniel of Rogersville, and Sarah Sandoval and Dan of Cassville; mother, Carolyn Biggs of Cassville; father, Gene Mills and Eula Mae of Cassville; one brother Kelly Mills and Tina of Aurora; one sister, Angela Burmylo of Berryville, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Family Life Center in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Milford Baker and Pastor James Ogan conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery at Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested contributions be made to Rocky Mills Music Scholarship Program at Freedom Bank in his memory.
