Billy Lee Day
Billy Lee Day, Jr., 68, of Goodman, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born on Dec. 21, 1948, in the Mineral Springs community, Cassville, son of Billy Sr., and Mary Day. He was a 1967 graduate of Cassville High School. On Dec. 2, 1977, he married Jeanetta Blevins in Cassville. He worked at manufacturing companies performing maintenance on large machinery, owned his own bar and then owned and operated a trucking business for many years called Blue Day, Inc.
Survivors include: his wife Jeanetta Day, of Goodman; five sons, Allen Mahurin and his wife Veralee, of Cassville, Daniel Mahurin and his wife Ann, of Richmond, Va., Richard Mahurin, of Goodman, Buddy Day, of Ashland, and Brian Day, of Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Leeann Day, of Golden City, and Angie Day-Ellingsworth, of Sarasota, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Stevens.
Funeral services were held Friday at White Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Jamie Smith officiating; burial was at Mineral Springs Cemetery, Cassville.
