Driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel

A Purdy man was injured in a wreck at 12:25 a.m. Monday on Highway 60, just east of Monett.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Thaddaeus Harris, 20, of Purdy, was driving a 2001Pontiac Montana eastbound and apparently fell asleep, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Harris suffered minor injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

He was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
