Pet of the Week

Meet Octavia, the Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week. She’s a beautiful and happy one year old tripod. Because she came to us with a deformed leg that she couldn’t use anyway, Octavia has adapted to life with three legs exceptionally well. The fourth leg was only slowing her down and now that it has been amputated, Octavia spends all her time running, playing and enjoying life. She will be able to keep up with any person or dog without any trouble. Octavia is pretty scared of small children (we’re almost positive she had never seen a toddler before coming to us) but she could probably get over that in time. Her ideal family would have adults and older children who don’t look so unusual to her. Octavia loves to play with other dogs and will need a dog friend who doesn’t mind some rough-housing. She doesn’t understand that not everyone wants her in their face, but she is very good-natured and just playful. A meet-and-greet with potential fur siblings would be a good idea to ensure a good match. Please visit us between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. any day of the week to meet Octavia, or call 417-835-3647 for more information. Contributed photo
