Track stars head to state meet
Cassville sends 2 to state in search of gold
The Cassville track and field team was not shut out of this year’s state track meet.
Austin Wilson will represent the Wildcats in the 400-meter run, and Brianna Hemphill will compete in the triple jump.
Hemphill took fourth in the sectional meet at Eldon with a leap of 37-2.5.
Josi Rose just missed qualifying in the javelin, placing sixth with a 100-4.
Audra Brooks was fifth in the shot put, tossing a 34-2.5.
A time and finish was not reported for Wilson.
The top four in each event advanced to the state meet.
Admission for students (6-and-up) and adults is $8 per day. Re-entry is permitted with the proper wristband. Shuttle service is provided by Jefferson City at various satellite parking areas.
Friday’s and Saturday’s events will be streamed on MSHSAA.tv. There is a subscription fee required to view the live video.
All events are slated to take place at Adkins Stadium on the campus of Jefferson City High School.
