Richard Asbill: District head apologizes for missing honor graduate

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

Dear Editor:

During the Cassville graduation ceremonies Sunday, I had the opportunity to announce the students who have achieved our top academic honors at Cassville and within the new cum laude honor system.

I was so impressed that in our first year of this system, we honored 55 graduates for their academic achievements.

However, during the announcements, I missed honoring one student, Riley Fletcher. I want to personally apologize to Riley, his parents and his family for my mistake.

Graduation is a great day, and when your son or daughter has achieved something, you deserve to hear about that achievement.

My sincere apologies to Riley and his family. Riley, great work and congratulations on your achievements. Your parents and all our graduate parents should be proud of the Cassville Class of 2017!

Respectfully,

Dr. Richard Asbill

Superintendent, Cassville schools
