Jewell Rose Farwell

Jewell Rose Farwell, 95, of Eagle Rock, passed away in her home on Monday, May 15, 2017. She was born on Nov. 10, 1921, in Washburn daughter of William and Eugenia (Eidson) Hutchens. She was a 1939 graduate of Washburn High School and subsequently received her teaching degree. On May 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ray W. Farwell; he preceded her in death on May 3, 2005. She was a member of the Roaring River Baptist Church for several years, and later became a member of the First Baptist Church in Golden.

Survivors include: one son, Rick Farwell, of Wagener, S.C.; two daughters, Angie Bailey and her husband Preston, of Tampa, Fla., and Mary Ann Fine and her husband Ben, of Eagle Rock; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Leora May Hayward, of Wichita, Kan.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Jethro Hutchens, Clifton Hutchens, Anthony “Tony” Hutchens, Herman Hutchens, Maynard Hutchens, and Evan Hutchens; two sisters, Martha Farwell, and an infant sister; and twins who passed away in infancy.

Graveside services were held Thursday at Roach Cemetery in Eagle Rock, with Pastor Rick Farwell officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
