Downed tree causes trouble for driver Friday

Heavy storms early Friday morning led to multiple reports of tree damage, one of which caused a wreck with injury at 4:40 a.m. on Farm Road 2180, one mile east of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Andrew Adkins, 22, of Cassville, was driving a 1997 Ford F150 eastbound when his vehicle struck a tree that had fallen in the roadway.

Adkins suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville.

He was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Elsewhere in the county, trees were reported down on Highway 39 north of Farm Road 2135, southeast of Jenkins, and a large tree blocked the roadway on Farm Road 1100 near Farm Road 2205. The exterior wall of a barn in Cassville was also blown out due to strong winds.

In Shell Knob, emergency management reported docks on Table Rock Lake had been damaged, and boats were upside down in the water on Farm Road 1252. Tree damage was also reported.
