A contestant fought valiantly to stay on Wild Sky, a small but tough, stout bull, while friends cheered him on, but eventually lost his grip before the bell and went flying, during the L.J. Jenkins Bull Riding event Saturday night in Cassville. Only one bull failed to throw his rider before the eight-second bell Shooting Star. Julia Kilmer/reporter@cassville-democrat.com

The L.J. Jenkins Bull Riding Tour event was held in Cassville Saturday night at the Rotary Club Arena. More photos from the event may be found in a gallery at: http://www.cassville-democrat.com/gallery/30114.

Exeter's own Mason Lowe, PBR rider, goes after a sinister-looking bull named Speckled Demon Saturday night during a bull riding event in Cassville at the Rotary Club Arena. Lowe hurt his back recently after being thrown from a bull and did not compete in the event. Julia Kilmer/reporter@cassville-democat.com
Children also had a good time at the L.J. Jenkins Bull Riding Tour event Saturday night in Cassville, with a 'boot scramble' event in the arena during intermission. For the lure of a $10 bill, children took their shoes off, left them in a pile, made a mad, collective dash to get them, put them back on, and be the first to reach 'Jester' Dustin Jenkins (L.J. Jenkins' brother). Julia Kilmer/reporter@cassville-democrat.com
