Sylvia Mae Hayworth, 73, of Washburn, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
She was born March 18, 1944, in Uneeda, W.Virg., the daughter of Melburn E. and Erslie (Green) Griffis. On May 1, 1961, in Exeter, she was united in marriage to Jack Hayworth, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Larry Hayworth and his wife Gilda of Summit, S.D.; two daughters, Linda Luney and her husband Joe of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Lisa Madison and her husband Kerry of Cassville; two brothers, John “Willy” Griffis and his wife Belva and Leonard Griffis and his wife Ann all of Cassville; one sister, Mary Good of Monett; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters in infancy; and one brother, Junior Griffis.
She grew up and received her education at Cassville. She and Jack made their home at Washburn where they raised their children. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Washburn.
Funeral services were held Monday at Washburn First Baptist Church under direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. Rev. Jim Erwin conducted the services. Burial was at Washburn Prairie Cemetery.
