It was with heavy hearts that Central Crossing Senior Center bid farewell to lead cook Jeff Jordan on Wednesday, April 19.

Jordan served the center well as an interim lead cook, and returned to the Springfield area to continue his career closer to home.

On the same day, the center welcomed its new, permanent lead cook, Joni Herzog. She and her husband, Bryan, are long-term Shell Knob residents.

Herzog comes to the CCSC with a certificate in dietary management and has over eight years of professional cooking experience, with her most recent assignment at Peach Tree Village in Holiday Island, Ark.

Area residents are welcome to come enjoy a specially-prepared lunch meal at the center; the price is right, the meals are delicious and nutritious, and guests can enjoy the company of friends, both old and new.
