Glen W. Scott
Glen W. Scott, Sr., 87, of McDowell, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Lacoba Homes in Monett. He was born on March 28, 1930, in Buena Vista County, Iowa, son of Walter and Merle (Arthur) Scott. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954, serving during the Koren Conflict. On Nov. 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Wilda Taggs in Brookfield. He was a farmer for most of his life.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cassville and the Monett American Legion Post #91.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Wilda Scott, of McDowell; one son, Glen Scott, Jr., of Purdy; three daughters, Cynthia Strong, of Purdy, Mary Fenske and her husband Michael, of Purdy, and Marguerite Scott, of McDowell; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, George Scott, of Drakesfield, Iowa; and two sisters, Elinor Hagen, of Hollywood, Calif., and Evelyn Sandgren, of Topeka, Kan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held April 12 at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Bob Day officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post #91 was at the Corsicana Cemetery.
