Bert Catron Jr.
Bert Catron Jr., 95, of Branson West, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Wedgewood Gardens Assisted Living Facility. He was born June 13, 1921, in Fairview, the son of Bert and Blanche (Hankins) Catron Sr.
He grew up in Purdy, and was a 1939 graduate of Purdy High School and graduated from the University of Missouri with his masterís degree in Agriculture Management. He worked for the University of Missouri as an Extension Agent in Taney County for 20 years before becoming a District Agent over several counties based out of Buffalo. He was a member of the Lions Club, Rotary Club and the Southside Baptist Church.
On Feb. 20, 1942, he married Virginia May Oglesby in Aurora. She preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2012.
Survivors include: his two sons, Alan Catron and his wife, Grace, of Branson West and Larry Catron and his wife, Claire, of Cape Fair; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora was held Friday at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
