Cassville enjoys season-best day at Carthage

While the Cassville golf squad finished in the middle of the 18-team Sonic Invitational at Carthage on Monday, Coach Jay Rogers said the group is played its best golf of the season.

“There were 18 teams, and several were from the big schools in the [Central Ozarks Conference],” Rogers said. “As a team, we posted our best total score of the season.”

Individually, Issac Dodson, with an 84, and Austin Wilson, with a 93, had their best rounds of the year.

Dylan Garner finished tied for first after 18-holes with an even par round of 71.

“Unfortunately, on the second playoff hole, he came up short and finished in second place,” Rogers said. “This was also his best round of the season.”

Dalton O’Neill’s 109 and Hunter Bailey’s 112 completed the team scoring for the Wildcats.

Cassville heads to Joplin on Thursday for its next competition.
