Solid showing at Aurora sets tone for next meet

For the Cassville track and field team, a trip to East Newton on Thursday will serve as another chance to continue stepping forward.

“We are working on improving across the board on everyone’s times, distances and heights,” said Clay Weldy, Cassville coach. “The positive is, we are getting points from many areas and we are improving as the year goes on.”

On a cold and windy night at Aurora, the Wildcats still managed to set some personal records.

“It was a pretty cold and windy night, so no one’s times were going to be great on a night like that,” Weldy said. “We did have Nathan Dick set a personal record in pole vault with a vault of 9-6 ,and Jordan Reed won the javelin event with a personal record of 148-04.”
