John W. Maddux, Jr.

John W. Maddux, Jr., 56, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Cassville Health Care and Rehab. He was born on Oct. 18, 1960, in Richmond, son of John and Laura (Whipple) Maddux. He was a 1979 graduate of Richmond High School. In 1983, he graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar with a degree in education. He received his Masterís Degree in education from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. John taught mathematics during his entire career at Southwest R-5 High School in Washburn.

He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville and was currently attending First Baptist Church in Exeter. He was an active member of Gideons International in Cassville.

Survivors include: his mother, Laura Maddux, of Cassville; and his brother, James Maddux, of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Maddux.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church in Exeter, or Gideons International and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890 Cassville, MO 65625.

Funeral services were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Exeter, with Pastor Jerry Yarnall officiating. Burial was at the Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
