Thorco building acquired by WinTech of Monett

The Thorco plant on Sale Barn Road in Cassville, which has sat empty approximately four years since it last manufactured retail displays, is tentatively scheduled to be the site of a new industry.

WinTech Inc., based in Monett, recently purchased the building. The company manufactures windows, louvers, access doors, panels and view ports for metal, modular and commercial applications, and is a competitor of EFCO Corporation. Established in 1991 by previous EFCO employees, WinTech is a 100 percent ESOP, employee-owned company.

Mary Lemings, human resources director for WinTech, confirmed the company acquired the Thorco plant, but was not able to provide further details about the company’s plans.

However, Lemings said Wintech is excited for the opportunity to bring its industry and future jobs to Cassville.

“We look forward to being a partner with everyone there in Cassville,” she said.

The previous building occupant was Alvey, which manufactured conveyor systems for several years.
