Senior Life Solutions starts Silver Discovery networking group
Providers invited to luncheon and first meeting on April 6
Senior Life Solutions is starting a new networking group called Silver Discovery and is inviting area providers to a luncheon to network and help provide solutions for seniors.
The purpose of the group is for providers to meet and learn about each others' services in their mutual goal of meeting the physical and emotional needs of seniors, as well as enhance their lives.
"Our goal will be to come together as a group to share ideas, promote our programs and services, and educate seniors on the availability of these services," said Susan Poehling, RN and Senior Life Solutions director. "The group is open to any service providers in the area who assists seniors, and members will have an opportunity to present their program and services. We feel there is a great need in our area to come together and meet as advocates for this sector of the population. We're encouraging anyone within a 50-mile radius to come to the luncheon."
Meeting fellow providers face-to-face can help them become more familiar with each others' services, said Poehling, which can mean making faster connections for seniors.
"If you can meet people, you can put a face to their program and their services, and we can pool our resources," Poehling said. "So, if someone has a particular need, someone in the group can point them in the right direction."
The luncheon will be held on April 6 at Oak Pointe Assisted Living, located at 1011 Old Airport Road in Monett, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch for the group's first meeting will be complimentary, and attendees are invited to bring a guest.
Attendees will be given an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves and their program and services, then each month thereafter, the group will have a featured speaker, in which members will have 15-20 minutes to share a presentation. Attendees should bring pertinent information about their program and business cards.
The group will also be discussing plans for a future senior health forum to educate the public about available services in their respective communities.
People must RSVP no later than March 31 to: firstname.lastname@example.org. For any questions, people may contact Poehling at Senior Life Solutions at 417-847-6042.
