Freedom Bank’s Virgil Harrington to retire
Bank president: 'He has done an exemplary job for over 17 years'
Freedom Bank of Southern Missouri is thankful for the years Virgil Harrington served and led the bank as an executive officer, as he will be retiring on Friday.
As CFO, Harrington was responsible for the accounting and financial reporting and controls over key banking processes. He has also served as the secretary of the Board of Directors. A retirement and open house reception will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the bank in Cassville.
Harrington has more than 46 years experience working in banks in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, and he has spent the last 18 years as chief financial officer/executive vice president of Freedom Bank of Southern Missouri. He is a graduate of the School of Administration at the University of Wisconsin.
"Virgil and I have worked closely together since the inception of Freedom Bank in 1999," said Freedom Bank President and CEO Stan Kelley. "He has been the chief financial officer/EVP since day one and has done an exemplary job for over 17 years. His vast knowledge and wisdom encompasses not only banking, but many other areas which have proven beneficial in decision-making that contributed to the success and growth of the bank.
"He will be missed by the associates, and especially, me. He has been a great teammate and most of all, a friend. I sincerely thank him for the dedication and service he has given to the bank, Board of Directors, fellow associates and our customers."
