Exeter NHS students host docu-drama presentation to create awareness about distracted driving

Wednesday, March 29, 2017
Exeter National Honor Society students presented a docu-drama to high school students on Friday, March 17. Distracted driving was the topic that students chose to bring awareness to during the presentation. The group began planning their program while attending the MoDOT Team Spirit leadership conference in Columbia last summer. During the year, they worked to survey our student body, make decisions about what they wanted to present and complete final details about their presentation. Several people and organizations helped the students with the project. Those included in the presentation were: Exeter Fire Department, Exeter Police Department, Brice’s Towing, Mercy Emergency Services, Coroner’s office and Officer John Leuckenhoff of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. After the docu-drama was completed, Leuckenhoff gave a presentation to the high school students. In photo, students, staff and First Responders reenact a realistic accident scene in Exeter, to help prevent distracted driving, injuries and save lives. Contributed photo
