Skiles named among state’s best

Area players land on All-State team

The final and most prestigious awards were officially released on Wednesday with the revealing of the Missouri High School Basketball Coaches Association All-State teams.

Two area stars, both juniors, were included in this year’s Class 2 list — Layne Skiles, from Purdy, and Belle Golubski, from Pierce City.

Skiles led Purdy to a 23-2 record and an undefeated Ozark 7 Conference title. She also scored her 1,000th career point during the season.

Golubski led the Lady Eagles to a 25-5 mark and a quarterfinal playoff appearance. She also recorded her 1,000th career point during the season.

The complete list is as follows. Teams were not divided into first and second team designations:
