Boys, girls squad have solid showing at McDonald County

With the first meet under their belts, Cassville track athletes are now preparing to head to Reeds Spring on April 4.

“I felt like we did well overall, and it was a good start to the season,” said Clay Weldy, Cassville boys coach. “We scored points in a lot of areas, and we had several people set personal records at McDonald County. We have a pretty young team overall, so the more experience they get, the better we are going to be as the year goes on.”

Results for the Wildcats are as follows:

Second

• 400 meters: Austin Wilson

• Long jump: Wilson

• Shot put: Satchel Hill

• Javelin: Jordan Reed

Third

• Shot put: Skyler Wolf

Fourth

• Pole vault: Austun Periman

• 300 hurdles: Braden Strahan

• 4x400 relay: Michael Sommers, Devon Brookes, Anthony Tolbert and Wilson

Fifth

• 110-meter hurdles: Braden Strahan

Sixth

• Triple jump: Bowen Preddy

• 4x100 Relay: Sommers, Brookes, Tolbert and Preddy

Lady Wildcats

Cassville’s girls also had a great opening meet, according to coach Kayla Walnofer

Cassville heads to Reeds Spring on April 4 for its next meet. Events are slated to begin at 4 p.m.
