1. Why do you want to win this position?

As a 14 year resident with three children currently enrolled in the Exeter School District, the win of this position is a stepping stone to ensure that all children in our district will receive the best quality education possible. By winning a seat on the board, I believe I can make this happen. This would be a privilege and opportunity for me to serve and give back to my small community that I love and call home.

2. If elected, what is your number one goal on the school board?

My number one goal is to make sure that each graduating student from Exeter will be equipped with the necessary educational knowledge and life skills to enter and interact with the world. May that be attending a local college, state university, Ivy League school, military service, or simply entering the job force. The only way to accomplish this goal is to make sure we attract, employ, and retain qualified educators. The next step in aiding our educatorís success is to encourage and provide continuing education with personal development and technology courses for them. Their success ensures the success of our students.

3. What areas of the school district do you think need improvement?

All areas in our school can always be improved. One area that we can continue to improve in is our MAP scores throughout the school. In recent years, we have seen an increase in our elementary test scores, which is a great accomplishment.† It is important that we continuously improve our studentís MAP scores in all grades.

4. Should the next big project focus on facility construction or technology?

I believe the next big project focus should and could be focus on both issues equally. Our world is moving faster in technology than it has in the past decade.† In the past few years, the school has received and incorporated Chromebooks in many of the grades and classrooms. We need to continue to utilize and implement them more with our students. We also can not neglect our school facility as a whole and renovate accordingly to accommodate the growing needs of our community.

5. Are there any programs or classes you would like to see the district add?

From parents and students inputs and concerns, I would like to see Exeter provide our students with the opportunity to take more advanced core classes in the junior and high school. I understand that we have many students who need additional learning support.† However, we also have a handful of students who are thirsting and ready to be challenge with more advanced curriculum.
