Playoffs beckon Cassville hoops

Wildcats prepare for district action

The regular season has concluded for both the Lady Wildcats and Wildcats hoop teams, and they both now turn their collective attention to the Class 4, District 10 tournament at McDonald County High School, which opens on Monday for the girls and Tuesday for the boys.

In the girls bracket, Carl Junction is the No. 1 seed, followed by No. 2 seed Webb City. Both teams earned a bye into the semifinals in the six-team bracket setting.

Cassville is the No. 3 seed and Aurora picked up the No. 4. McDonald County is at No. 5 and Monett took No. 6, rounding out the seeding.

Cassville and Monett open tourney play on Monday at 6 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Thursday semifinal against Webb City at 4 p.m.

Carl Junction will entertain the winner of the Aurora-McDonald County game at 5:30 p.m.

The championship match is slated for 6 p.m. on Saturday.

On the boys side, Cassville enters the six-team field as the No. 4 seed and will face a familiar foe in No. 5 seed McDonald County.

Aurora earned the No. 1 overall seed and Webb City the No. 2, both teams earning byes with those seeds. Carl Junction comes in as the No. 5 seed, and Monett finds itself in the cellar as the No. 6 seed.

The Wildcats and Mustangs tipoff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face the Houní Dawgs at 7 p.m. in the semifinal on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs and Cubs play at 6 p.m. Monday, with the victor to play the Cardinals at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The championship game is slated for Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
