Happy birthday salute for teacher follows orchestra concert

Wednesday, February 22, 2017
A busload of Purdy High School music students attended the Ozark Festival Orchestra’s Soloist Showcase concert on Sunday at the Monett High School Performing Arts Center, where 2005 Purdy High School graduate Jason Terry, now with the faculty at the University of Indiana, performed as piano soloist. In a surprise after the concert, choir members sang “Happy birthday” to Purdy vocal music teacher Lauren Lee, left, then engulfed her in a group hug on stage. Lee also took the opportunity to tour the PAC for ideas on configuring a similar facility planned for the Purdy school district. Murray Bishoff/Cassville Democrat
