History-making Wildcat Wyatt Goad has shot at 3rd-place finish

Columbia Cassville junior Wyatt Goade enters the final day of wrestling competition at the state tournament in Columbia with a chance to take a third-place finish.

Goade lost his semifinal bout in a first-period pin, but he will be back in action on Saturday morning against Dalton Ward, of Sullivan, in the consolation semifinal.

A win would move Goade into the third-place bout, and a loss would leave the junior in line for a shot at fifth place.

Goade has already secured a medal in the state tournament. At about 10 a.m. Saturday, he wrestles in the consolation semifinal against Ward.

Updates will be posted as they become available Saturday morning.
