Cassville wrestler advances to state semifinal

Cassville wrestling coach Nathan Fortner turned from coach into fan as he watched Wyatt Goade achieve his goal of earning a state medal.

Friday morning, Goade defeated Aaron Hemann of St. Clair, 5-3, in sudden victory overtime.

Trailing nearly the entire match, the crafty Wildcat scored a takedown with just 13 second remaining to tie the score 3-3 and force overtime, where he needed just 23 seconds to score another takedown and advance to the semifinal round tonight.

Goade, upon victory, immediately ran over to his coach and embraced in a bear hug.

More on Goade's run will be released later tonight.
