Central Crossing’s Annual Chili and Soup Fest Fundraiser set
The first responders and firefighters of Central Crossing are holding their annual Chili and Soup Fest Fundraiser on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Viola/Shell Knob Community Building. The community building is located just off Highway 39, one mile south of Central Crossing Bridge on the east side of the road. This is an “all you can eat” meal at a small fee. Central Crossing crews this past year responded to more than 570 community 911 calls to assist with accidents, health care situations, automobile wrecks, fires and many other emergency problems. The first responders have added several new people so, the money raised will be used to purchase and outfit these new responders with the equipment that they need, as well as keep a steady need of supplies stocked. The initial cost of outfitting a first responder is about $3,000 per person. Central Crossing first responders and firefighters serve the Shell Knob area, covering nearly 140 square miles in Barry and Stone County. To make a donation or for additional information, people may contact Shannon Renfrow at 417-619-2079 or email: email@example.com.
