Mike Alden Blankenship

Mike Alden Blankenship, 82, of Jenkins, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at his home.

He was born April 8, 1934, at Jenkins, the son of William Henry “Bunk” and Chloe (Hudson) Blankenship. On Oct. 3, 1953, he was united in marriage to Juanita Turpin, who survives.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Tim Blankenship and his wife Madge and Steven Blankenship and his wife Deanna all of Jenkins; three daughters, Jane Howe and her husband Allen of Exeter, Judy Eaton and her husband David of Jenkins, and Jill Blankenship of Jenkins; one sister, Bonnie Ragain of Jenkins; 14 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Duane Blankenship, and one sister, June Stumpff.

He was a 1952 graduate of Cassville High School. His entire life was spent in the Jenkins area, where he was a dairy farmer and did carpentry work. He was a member of Shiloah Baptist Church and was a church deacon. For many years, he belonged to Gideon’s, and for 16 years, he was a member of the Jenkins School Board.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial was at Clio Cemetery at Jenkins.
