38 students compete in Joplin Globe Spelling Bee qualifier
On Feb. 1, 38 fourth-and-fifth-grade students competed for the title of Cassville Intermediate Spelling Bee Champion, along with a chance to participate in the Joplin Globe Spelling Bee on March 20 at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin.
Fourth-grade student Dustin Simon took first place. Simon is the son of Amanda Simon of Cassville, and Jared Simon of Colorado. He is in Jacque Morris' class.

CJ Rose came in second and will serve as alternate. Rose is the son of Cody and Starla Rose of Cassville. He is a fifth-grade student in Jewel Farwell's class.
