Exeter man arrested after I-44 Wreck
Vehicle strikes bridge at Highway 59 south of Carthage
An Exeter man was injured and arrested after a wreck Sunday at 8:26 p.m. on Interstate 44 at Highway 59, two miles south of Carthage.
According to a Missouri State Highway patrol report, Michael Harper, 45, of Exeter, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet 2500 pickup westbound when his vehicle lost control and struck the bridge.
Harper suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
At 8:56 p.m., Harper was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
He was released for medical care.
