During the week of Jan. 22-28, communities across the state of Missouri will honor the dedicated service of local boards of education during School Board Recognition Week, as proclaimed by Governor Jay Nixon. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the important function an elected board of education plays in communities and schools. "Our community and our students benefit every day from the countless volunteer hours devoted by our Board of Education members," said Richard Asbill, Cassville superintendent. "They tackle the difficult challenges that come with operating a school district. Their decisions not only affect our students and community today, but create a lasting impact on the future of Cassville Schools. For that, we appreciate them immensely." The Cassville school district is governed by a seven-member board that meets monthly. Board of Education members serve a three-year term. Current members are: David Haddock, Jon Horner, Becky Henningson, Carolyn Bowen, Chad Yarnall, Jeremy Marple and John Sullivan.
