Carl Eugene Sturgeon
Carl Eugene Sturgeon, 62, of Fairview, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Neosho, to Kenneth Carl and Mary Eileen (Adams) Sturgeon. On Jan. 29, 1981, he was united in marriage to Janet Hallmark, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Zeb Sturgeon and his wife Brynae of Natoma, Kan., and Kenneth Sturgeon of Stark City; one daughter, Alicia Robbins and her husband Patrick of Neosho; his father and stepmother, Kenneth and Willadean Sturgeon of Stella; one sister, Beverly Hill of Alma, Kan.; a step-sister, Joy Tichenor and her husband Ed of Abilene, Texas; a stepbrother, Bill Cooper of Wheaton; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his mother; one brother, James Hill; and one sister, Phyllis Peters.
He graduated from Wheaton High School. He was a member of Wheaton First Baptist Church. He was a self-employed farmer and also owned and operated a fertilizer truck.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Donnie Spears and Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services. Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery at Pioneer.
