Abrupt stop causes motorcycle to skid, crash

A Cassville man was injured in a wreck on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. on Highway 37, west of Monett.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Joshua Stewart, 38, of Cassville, was riding a 2005 Honda Shadow motorcycle eastbound when he attempted to stop abruptly, causing the bike to skid and come to rest on its side.

Stewart suffered moderate injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital.

He was wearing a safety device, and the motorcycle suffered moderate damage.
